What Is the Parquet Stitch?

The Parquet Stitch is kind of like a cross between granny stripes and the boxed block stitch. It’s fairly easy and consists of single crochets, chains and double crochet clusters.

Abbreviations

YO – Yarn Over

SK – Skip

DC – Double Crochet

CH – Chain

REP – Repeat

DC CL – Double Crochet Cluster

ST – Stitch

SC – Single Crochet

 

   

Single Crochet (SC) – Insert your hook, YO pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops.

Double Crochet (DC) – YO, insert your hook, YO pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and pull through remaining two loops.

Double Crochet CLUSTER (DC CL) – Three (3) DC in the same space.

ROW 1

 1 SC in 6th ch from hook. * CH 2, SK 2 CH, 1 SC in next CH* REP from * to * to across to the end of the row.. CH 3. Turn.

ROW 2

1 DC in base of CH 3. *SK next 2 CH, 3 DC in next SC* REP from * to * to last 2 CH SP and SC, SK next 2 CH, 2 DC in last SC. Ch 1. Turn.

ROW 3

1 SC in base of Ch 1. *CH 2, SK next 2 DC, 1 SC in next DC.*  REP from * to * working the last SC in top of CH 3. Turn.
