What Is the Crunch Crochet?

The Crunch Stitch  is made up of alternating treble crochets with single crochets on  top of single crochet row. Alternating the taller stitch of the treble crochet with the shorter single crochet stitch creates this faux bobble effect and a fab amount of texture.

Abbreviations

YO – Yarn Over

REP – Repeat

 

CH – Chain

SC – Single Crochet

 

ST – Stitch

TR – Treble Crochet

Single Crochet (SC) – Insert your hook, YO pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops.

Treble Crochet (TR) –  YO twice, insert your hook, YO pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and pull through remaining two loops.

ROWS 1-3

Starting in the 2nd chain from the hook, work 3 rows of SC.

ROW 4

Starting in the first stitch, *work 1 SC. Work 1 TR in the next stitch. REP from *across to the end of the row, ending with 1 SC in the last stitch. CH1. Turn

ROWS 5-7

Work 3 rows SC.

REPEAT ROWS 4-7
